Signs of a Concussion

If playing in sports and receive a bump to the head remember:

   "When in doubt, sit it out!"

SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY!!

Thinking/remembering, physical, emotional/mood, and sleep disturbances can be signs of a concussion.

Seeking immediate medical treatment after any type of head injury is vital. Doctors will determine how serious the injury is and when it is safe for you to return to physical activities, school, and everyday activities.

 

Tale tell signs that indicate symptoms of a concussion would be: 

  • Headache or a feeling of "pressure" in the head

  • Nausea and vomiting

  • Balance problems or dizziness

  • Double or blurry vision

  • Sensitivity to light or noise

  • Feeling sluggish, groggy, or dazed

  • Difficult paying attention

  • Memory problems

  • Confusion 

  • Numbness or tingling

  • Sleep problems

  • Mood changes

  • Changes in behavior
